Carmen like you’ve never seen her…

Passion and breathtaking movement ignite Bizet’s timeless tale of desire and destiny. Ballet Hispánico brings Carmen to life with fiery choreography and vibrant Latin rhythms.

Created by acclaimed Spanish choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, this bold, visually stunning production strips away words and vocals, telling the story entirely through movement, set to orchestral excerpts from Bizet’s iconic Carmen, including the “Habanera” and “Bolero.”

Inspired by tauromaquia, the Spanish art of bullfighting, this riveting take on the classic love triangle between the free-spirited Carmen, the soldier Don José, and the bullfighter Escamillo explores power, obsession, and a woman’s fierce fight for independence. The striking physicality and contemporary edge woven into CARMEN.maquia brings a legendary story to life in an emboldened new way.
