What if the walls of an old New York City apartment could talk? Layer the Walls brings those stories to life with puppets, masks, and live action in a moving show for families and kids ages 8-14. Inspired by 40 layers of wallpaper found in a real Lower East Side tenement, this show uncovers true stories of immigrant families from the late 1800s, including an Irish worker who built the Brooklyn Bridge, Italian brothers who braved a huge blizzard, and Russian Jewish teens who fought for workers' rights. Layer the Walls is a creative way to explore our history and spark important and meaningful conversations for all ages.
