EMERSON LEGACY CONCERT 2024
Sunday, September 15, 2024
Recital Hall @ 5pm
After 47 years of enthralling audiences and nearly 100 sold-out shows at the Staller Center, the Emerson String Quartet bid the world farewell in October 2023. Now, former Emerson String Quartet members Philip Setzer, violin, and David Finckel, cello, join with the acclaimed pianist Wu Han in their exceptional Han-Setzer-Finckel Trio. The trio has been met with critical acclaim worldwide. In addition to their concert activities, the artists have recorded the piano trios of Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Dvořák on the ArtistLed label and embark on trios by Beethoven and more in the coming season.
“...When a chamber music performance is both easygoing and insanely precise, the underlying substance of it has a way of penetrating deeply into the human psyche. That’s what it’s all about for Han, Finckel, and the people with whom they work. They are defining, in real-time, the very essence of chamber music.”
