AN EVENING WITH ITZHAK PERLMAN

AN EVENING WITH ITZHAK PERLMAN

SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2024 8PM

Reigning virtuoso of the violin and classical musician superstar Itzhak Perlman leads the audience through his life with personal photos, clips, and of course live music.

Beloved for his charm and humanity as well as his talent, Itzhak Perlman is a world-renowned classical violinist and conductor. He is treasured by audiences worldwide who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but also to his sheer joy of making and sharing music, which he effortlessly communicates. Enjoying celebrity status rarely achieved by a classical musician, Perlman has performed several times at the White House, and received numerous accolades, including 16 Grammy Awards, four Emmy Awards, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award–not to mention a National Medal of Arts by President Clinton, a Medal of Liberty by President Reagan, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Nation’s highest civilian honor, by President Obama.

Perlman has performed with as well as conducted most of the world's leading orchestras, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Westchester Philharmonic. A champion for music education, advocacy, and individuals with disabilities, Perlman has often met with architects and designers of performance venues to advise them on how to improve access in their spaces, from the bathrooms and seats in the performance halls to the entrances/exits and box offices. Widely regarded as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th and 21st centuries, the emotional depth and evocativeness Perlman conveys in his performances resonate with anyone fortunate enough to witness him on stage.
