EMERSON STRING QUARTET GRAND FINALE at STONY BROOK

This farewell concert will be held on Staller Center's Main Stage. It will celebrate the Quartet's almost 25-year-long history as Artists in Residence here at Stony Brook.

Program: The program will feature Beethoven String Quartet in Bb Major and Schubert String Quintet in C Major. Special guest and former Emerson cellist, David Finckel, will join the ensemble for the Schubert piece.
The Grand Finale at Stony Brook will mark the close of the Quartet's illustrious 47-year-long career, which includes 9 Grammy Awards, 3 Gramophone Awards, The Avery Fisher Prize, and Musical America's Ensemble of the Year Award. The Emerson String Quartet has collaborated with today's most esteemed composers and artists, including Renee Fleming, Evgeny Kissen, Emanuel Ax, Yefim Bronfman, and others. Emerson has over 30 acclaimed recordings and is revered as perhaps the world's greatest String Quartet ever.
