VERONICA SWIFT

VERONICA SWIFT

SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2024 8PM

You saw Veronica Swift here in 2021 with Chris Botti. One of the most dazzling and versatile singers of her generation. A mix of jazz, rock and soul, with a voice that will move you.

Swift is a master of scat singing, she applies her gifts to genre-blurring works that continue to propel this rising star. Swift possesses a voice of natural delicacy, one that’s clearly been developed through long and intensive training, though the genes certainly don’t hurt–she’s the daughter of singer Stephanie Nakasian and late jazz pianist Hod O’Brien.

Named JazzTimes’ 2019 Best New Artist, Veronica Swift has toured as a featured vocalist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Chris Botti, Michael Feinstein and Benny Green.

While her first two albums solidified her position in modern jazz, Swift is more than just a jazz singer; her ventures into French and Italian opera, European classical music, bossa nova, blues, industrial rock, funk, and vaudeville showcase a broad, artistic voice that remains unwavering, regardless of genre. “She has a miraculous voice, musical ability and technique, as well as an innate gift for entertaining a crowd.” —Wall Street Journal
